Sakina

Sakina spends nearly all her time caring for her 19-year-old son Yasin, who has a rare progressive neurological condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia that has him relying on wheelchairs and mobility devices to get around. Sakina helps with feeding, bathing, dressing, and administering Yasin’s daily medications. Additionally, Sakina is Yasin’s primary advocate, ensuring his education needs are met, while also finding recreational and therapeutic camps and programs in which he can participate.
